Less working hours; More productivity?

productivity

The Spanish government's last pact includes a proposal to reduce the maximum working day to 37.5 hours per week by 2025, generating repercussions that affect a large part of the country's workers.

The measure would affect an estimated 12 to 13 million people, according to different sources, considering data from collective bargaining agreements and the Labor Force Survey (EPA).

Currently, most employees have working hours that exceed this figure.

The Ministry of Labor estimates that about 70% of workers would be affected by this reduction, underscoring the magnitude and scope of the proposed policy.

Long working hours and a 40-hour workday can have a number of negative effects on employee productivity and, ultimately, on the overall performance of an organization.

In Servitalent we wanted to know the opinion of our followers on LinkedIn and we have conducted the following survey:

How many hours of your workday do you think are actually effective work hours?

A large majority of participants (72%) have responded that between 4 and 6 are the effective working hours.

Knowing this data, from Servitalent, we would like to share several strategies that are useful to promote productivity, aiming to create a work environment that promotes effective working hours and contribute to the overall success of your team or company.
