As you may already know, Servitalent is part of the headhunters network Talentor International.

Some time ago we created an initiative called "Spanish e-coffee with..." in which, little by little, we are coordinating with the teams from the different countries that make up this network, in order to share a "virtual coffee" to get to know each other and explore ways to collaborate together in the search for executive talent in both countries. In this way we both managed to improve our global recruitment services and, at the same time, get closer to the culture and peculiarities of these countries in order to better understand the needs of their market.

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to share this space with our colleagues from Australia (for them, due to the time difference, more than an e-coffee it was an e-beer 😅). We met the Carrington Associates team and Sachin Khisti, Managing Partner, told us some of the keys to better understand this country when working in executive search.

Could you give us a short introduction about Talentor Australia?

CarringtonX Associates is a division of Carrington Associates specializing in talent search and HR consulting services in both Australia and New Zealand.

This division is made up of four people.

What would you say are the most important factors for a foreign company to consider when looking for talent in Australia?

It is very important to understand the local culture, also taking into account that Australia is very big and therefore we can find many nuances depending on the place where we want to look for talent to be able to find the person that fits what we are looking for. People like to feel like they are working with people from their local environment.

Every country and every culture is different, so we can't work with a global model in the executive search.

What are the most in-demand positions in the Australian market?

Literally, considering the numbers, they are the following ones

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services
  • Education and Training
  • Construction sector

What sector are you specialized in at Carrington Associates?

We focus primarily on large commercial enterprises:

  • IT Services

  • Telecommunications

  • Manufacturing

Do you have experience in executive search within the Spanish market?

So far we have not had direct experience working with Spanish companies, but, currently, Spanish companies with a presence in Australia are growing, especially in the fields of construction and infrastructure in various sectors both public and private. For this reason we think that there will soon be a lot of demand for qualified personnel in Australia, or from Australia in the Spanish market. So we are very keen to explore business opportunities between Australia and Spain.
